Title: "The Spiral Chrysalis" The name just hooks me in strait away and I just think of a beautiful butterfly but that is not what it looks like at all the book sounds like and book full of mysteries!
Cover: The cover to me has lots of mystery for me and i'm wondering what the black curves are I think there people protecting the chrysalis in the back round there is also smoke coming out of the chrysalis and I really want to know what the is!
Blurb: The blurb makes the book sound even more amazing than it looks for me its all about a girl who finds the spiral chrysalis and her gran tells a story about it. I would just love to find out more.
My prediction: I think its about a girl who finds the chrysalis then wants to know about it but there are some guards to it an she doesn't know anything about what it is!
Description: This week the internet was down so I thought with my friend Serena and she said we could make our own story wheel so we did!!:) I had to draw a circle then do seven lines going to diagonal but only seven lines because theres always one more space when you do lines! Here it is!
My own story wheel: I read this book/ play and I did it with Serena and my other friend Grace and the story is a bird election and all of our native birds want to be president so they all fight but there are helicopters and trucks coming so in the end they all work together!!!

Description: In maths we are learning to times multiply and divide. In our last work shop we did the box method. I like the box method but it doesn't suite me as a learner, but I might work with it sometimes.

Evaluation: I think I did well with my maths. At first I was wondering what to do but now I under stand a lot and all of the strategy's that I have learned helps me with learning.
We have been learning how to make pop art. pop art is a type of art that is colourful and bright colours on all of the pictures!
There are some people who are very famous for there pop art and there names are Andy Warhole, David Hokney and Peter Blake, there are more but these are the ones with very good art! I like pop art because it stands out and is WOW! I have been working on my strokes in how I paint my pop art so it looks all the same. I would love to do pop art again it is very fun!

For starting to make or pop art we drew a picture that we would do on the big peace of paper in our think books then we made a stencil. on our big peace of paper we ruled four lines and then put the stencil on started to trace around it. After that we started to paint bright and light colours!

Description:This term we have been doing tic tac toes, we do them when we aren't in a workshop, depending on what goal we are. My goal Right now is summarising. I think I have been doing well at sticking to the main Or key words in the story or artical when I summarise, I could improve on useing key words to wright my summaries cause sometimes I write sentences. I know I am getting better at summerising because after I read something I can easily summerise the story in six or less sentences!
We had to pick a tic tac toe and I chose the story wheel. The story wheel is when You have a wheel and you have a story or an article and then fill in all of the wheels with the key words.

I think that it was quite challenging thinking of things to draw because the article was not that big. I think I did well with the colour I wanted big and colourful and thats what I got! :)
This incredible Australian surfer (Mick Fanning) survived the heart stopping shark attack, in south Africa in a competition. Someone from the other team tried to save him and in his interview he said, “I was swimming to him and then i saw him getting pulled under the water, then I new I couldn't do any thing anymore” Then in Mick Fannings interview he said “I felt something grab my leg and pull me so I kicked it and punched it and then for a few seconds I was under the water” Then a rescue team went out and pulled him up, luckily he is ok and nothing hurting.

Description:This year we have been doing something called ET Reo so far we have been learning lunchbox foods like (Āporo/apple) the line on top of the a is a macron, and with the macron you say the letter longer like Aaaporo.
Big Idea: We had to learn some sentences and they were in maori do you like Āporo/ Apple then we would say in maori no. Or yes.

Description: Every country in the worlds flag has a connection to its past, history and culture. I had to Post this picture on my blog and then connect it to me the world or another text. This is my picture: I picked this one because it reminded me of when I saw the silver fern's one's. The colours reminded me of my mum because one of her favourite colours is red and blue makes me feel safe. And the stars show me a beautiful stary night.
Description:This term we have been doing strategy maths, like subtraction and plus. We have this thing called a maths strategy passport, it helps us with some strategy's we could use later. Our task was to have a sheet of paper with prises with rebel sport items and we four questions and because I'm a stage five I have to do at least one good answer.

Description: In poutama we went to all three teachers (Elly Ebony and Troy) After we went to all three teachers we chose one of them. I chose Ebony, because it was about animals and biological and behavioural adaptations. Now a biological adaptation, is apart of the animal for example the stripes on a tiger is a part of the tiger. Now a behavioural adaptation is when it learns do do something like hunting for food. Purpose: To think like a scientist. Criteria:

I think Im good at connecting myself to the text, but I need to get better at my text to text. Every week we learn about skills and movement that will help us play sports. This term’s focus has been around defense. We made a video showing some of the goals we have been practicing. I have highlighted the thing I think I have done well YELLOW and one thing I would like to work on PINK.

Description: Every friday our three classes all have a thing called discovery time, and that is when we have some options to do things that we don't do often. And today I did sewing, it was fun I made a dress (But its not the best) Heres a picture!
Description: We had to use a sentence then finish it off or improve it, but no matter what we have to start our sentence off with an "ing" word. Arriving by moonlight, there were three of us. Sweeting with fear we walked into the cave. I highlighted the part the was the sentence I joined on to.
Description: In week 7, we had an overnight stay at the local Marae in Woodville. We were immersed in Maori culture and participated in a range of activities. We set two goals to focus on during our stay.

Description: We had to do a star test, for reading. We did this so that we can know our goal. We did our star test in our swimming class, and the year fives and sixes did A and B. The year fives did test A and the year sixes did test B.
My goal is comprehension because in our test for comprehension I got a 17/20 so this is what i need to work on, by asking questions throughout the reading process.
Description: We have been learning how to swim better. Our swimming teacher Troy has been teaching us backstroke, freestyle and sculling. We have been learning these because in week 6 we are all going to the Lido for swimming sports, and we have to have a goal for swimming sports. So just below are my 2 goals for school and then 1 for the lido.

I am most proud of my kicks in swimming, because they are powerful but going everywhere. My goals for school is: To make my hands into cups when I swim freestyle. To do this I must practise remember to practise getting the water in my hand and pull hard through the water. My second goal is to have my arms always bent and pointing to the sky during freestyle. To do this I must always think about pointing my arms arm with each stroke I do. This will make me a faster and straighter swimmer.
My goal for swimming sports is to swim in at least two heats. To do this I will put my hand up for the events and give it my all.

I really liked your video! I loved the way you used time lapse to show you waiting! I also really liked the way you used voiceover so that I could hear your voice really clearly. Next time I think that you could zoom in the camera a bit closer so that I could see your face clearer. Hannah
