Te Ahu a Turanga Noho Marae

Description:  In week 7, we had an overnight stay at the local Marae in Woodville.  We were immersed in Maori culture and participated in a range of activities.  We set two goals to focus on during our stay.

My twist show that I had to do some tasks by my self.
And my koros show all our team work and all of us together! 
In Ellys class we had to make a book mark about the marae, and this is mine.




Big Idea:  
1.  Did you achieve your goals?  How do you know? I achieved eating every thing I was given because It was yum and my plate was clear

2.  What are you most proud of from the marae stay and why?Actually getting to sleep for most of the night. I thought I wasn't going to go to sleep at all!

3.  What challenged you the most and why?Going back to sleep before 7:00am. I couldn't get back to sleep because  most people were talking, but Im going to be honest I talked a bit to.

Big Idea: I worked with Hannah kid to do this. I rememberd as much as I could, it was hard but I did it!

Position and Orientation (Geometry with Eb)

Description: We have been learning about Position and Orientation with Eb. It is a part of our learning about Geometry at maths time.

WALT: give and follow directions using, left, right, up, down, North, South, East and West

Questions:

1. What major landmarks can you see from the Plaza?

2. What is the closest landmark North-West from McDonalds?
Library

3. What direction is the Arena from United Video?
South west

4. After the doctors I turn right down Victoria Ave and turn right at the round about. I travel South-West until the main road. Turn left. Follow road and stop at the 3rd right turn.Travel South-West and stop at the bottom corner of the square. What am I doing?...

5. Create your own instructions for someone to follow using the language you have learned.




Your at subway. Turn right on Ferguson st. At Ferguson St turn right until the corner of princess St. Go up princess St until broadway Ave. Turn right down broadway and at the round about Turn left up Victoria St, what are you doing...

Evaluation:  I think I did well with following the instructions, and I'm feeling proud of myself, and if I dod this again I will make sure I think about what direction I'm facing and making sure I go back and cheek it again to make sure I dident make any mistake like I did, when I did this.

Story telling

Purpose: create a story to share orally
Description: Oral storytelling is a Maori tradition. We have been planning our own story to tell on the Marae in Week 7.

Big Idea: To create a story about how spiders got eight legs

Feedback/Feedforward: I like how you used crowd paticapation because that way the crowd didn't get bored. I think next time you could speak a tiny bit louder because I couldn't really hear you.Aria

Evaluation: I think I did well in my story but maybe next time I could make it a little bit more exiting.

Star test

Description: We had to do a star test, for reading. We did this so that we can know our goal. We did our star test in our swimming class, and the year fives and sixes did A and B. The year fives did test A and the year sixes did test B.

My
 goal is comprehension because in our test for comprehension I got a 17/20 so this is what i need to work on, by asking questions throughout the reading process.
